We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Watch Politicians Debate Health Care—And Watch Their Donors

from Pro Publica.  The meeting must be in session for this to be activated. Once the latter occurs look for the donors on the right of the live video that features the person speaking. There is always a delay after a new speaker comes on until the website assembles the data.
As the president meets with congressional leaders today to debate health care reform, the Sunlight Foundation has come up with a very useful way of watching the event.  There's live video -- and when a politician starts speaking, Sunlight shows their top campaign contributors.
