We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Because I always make every effort to uncover war crimes perpetrated by Empire agents, I was very surprised to read about this general's most egregious war crimes that have occurred during the past two years. Then I did a search on Google to look for any earlier reporting of this and found only the posting "The Unforgivable Horror of Village Razing" by Joshua Foust on his obscure blog (registan) in January 2011 that was mentioned in this article. Please check out the above link to the article by Foust for the details of the war crimes committed by the Empire's celebrated "war hero".
