We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

De-escalation in Ukraine as seen by Joe Biden

Administration officials and spokespeople like Biden continue talking peace while fomenting more conflict in Ukraine and against Russia. It appears to me that the American audience is only hearing what they say, but due to corporate media coverage have very little idea of what Empire agents are actually doing in Ukraine.

At the very least, I think that the ultimate events in the Empire's project for Ukraine are risking a dangerous confrontation with Russia, but at the very least will provide a turning point which will result in the Empire's loss of power in the world. The latter may be desirable; but given the fact that there are power-addicted figures in their directorate, this trend could also ratchet up more very destructive wars.

Meanwhile, back at the American ranch, very few people seem to be paying attention.
