We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

The Establishment: And how they get away with it

Click here to access article by Sean Ledwith from CounterFire (Britain).

In this critical review of a new book by Owen Jones, Ledwith reminds us that it's the economic system not individuals that is the problem. Although the book is about the British establishment, essentially the same dynamics of capitalist power apply in the US. After WWII they and vengeful Zionist agents combined to form a rampaging empire.
Owen Jones’ The Establishment is a valuable dissection of the networks of power and ideology, but the concept of the ruling [capitalist] class adds a needed dimension, argues Sean Ledwith.
