A fact sheet regarding well-funded "activist" organizations, big donors, the irrelevance of stopping one pipeline, etc., all leads to this conclusion:

The second simple (and final) truth is—it’s the system. That no one wants to acknowledge this – doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. We kill capitalism—or capitalism kills us. It’s really that simple.
