We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Ted Cruz PsyOp

Click here to access article by Thierry Meyssan from VoltaireNet (France).

I'm glad that Meyssan posted this article even though I think it grossly distorts how elections are influenced in the US and much of the capitalist world. He is suggesting that with the candidate Ted Cruz, it is some dark conspiracy known as a "psychological operations" (PSYOP) which have been used extensively since WWII as a useful method by the super-secret and unaccountable CIA to protect European government from being infected with a left-wing political virus, to destabilize and overturn governments as illustrated in those operations known as color revolutions, and other applications.

But to suggest that these techniques have been uniquely applied to Cruz is a gross distortion. All major candidates use campaign managers to organize and manage their political campaigns, and they all use elements of PSYOPs to influence voters. There is an entire industry devoted to campaign management (just enter "political campaign management" into any search engine), and they don't come cheap. There must be big money behind candidates in order to finance campaign management firms. And that is one of many methods that capitalists use to shape the outcome of elections.
