We’ve lived so long under the spell of hierarchy—from god-kings to feudal lords to party bosses—that only recently have we awakened to see not only that “regular” citizens have the capacity for self-governance, but that without their engagement our huge global crises cannot be addressed. The changes needed for human society simply to survive, let alone thrive, are so profound that the only way we will move toward them is if we ourselves, regular citizens, feel meaningful ownership of solutions through direct engagement. Our problems are too big, interrelated, and pervasive to yield to directives from on high.

Democratic Party's role in health care

by Jimmy Dore of the Jimmy Dore Show. (Note: I've taken the liberty to change the title of this video clip to a more appropriate title--my apologies to Dore.)

After enjoying this show which exposes the Democratic Party as another instrument of the ruling capitalist class, I'd like to focus your attention on the last statement Jimmy Dore said in this clip: "... that's why we need a revolution in this country, and I'm not kidding." Well, that's not the only reason, but it is a sufficient reason.
